Jesus Circumcised

Date: On the eighth day. Luke 2:21 supplies the relative interval.
On the eighth day the child is circumcised and named Jesus, the name announced before his conception.
Luke distinguishes this naming from the later presentation in Jerusalem. The verse supplies an age but no named venue. A precise house or temple pin would add information the text does not give.
Primary Scripture
2:21 When the eight days before His circumcision had passed, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He was conceived.
Related Scripture
The law names the eighth-day circumcision and distinguishes it from the purification period.
Location evidence
Luke states the eighth-day circumcision without naming its venue. Bethlehem is a possible contextual inference, not an explicit location for this act.
No event map marker is assigned. Do not infer an exact venue from related places.
For the class
Why does Luke emphasize both the name and the family’s observance?
Interpretation and reuse
Narrative order is a reading arrangement, not a proven chronology. Dates retain their stated uncertainty. An identified locality does not establish the exact venue or prove an event. Region extents and routes are illustrative, not surveyed boundaries or ancient roads. Draft material has not completed editorial review.
