Date: Preparation and early ministry. A guided comparison of Gospel accounts, not a measured calendar or a claim that every parallel follows the same sequence.

Jesus leaves Judea for Galilee, and John’s account says he passes through Samaria. The Synoptic notices connect the Galilean beginning with John’s imprisonment.

These are overlapping transition notices, not evidence of several identical departures on consecutive days. John’s explanation also concerns the growing attention to the disciples’ baptizing.

## For the class

What distinct reasons or emphases do the accounts give for this transition?

## Interpretation and reuse

Narrative order is a reading arrangement, not a proven chronology. Dates retain their stated uncertainty. An identified locality does not establish the exact venue or prove an event. Region extents and routes are illustrative, not surveyed boundaries or ancient roads. Draft material has not completed editorial review.
